Well, we completed another North Dakota weekend adventure.
Anyone who's talked to me about where we live at the moment knows that it is, shall I say, a touch off the beaten path. Lisbon is a town about the size of Lena. Unlike Lena though, the nearest town of substantial girth lies about 74 miles, or an hour and some minutes' drive, to the north. There you will find a city with every bit as much shopping within it as the greater Rockford area contains, only less rundown than Rockford.
But that's no surprise now, is it? (http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2011/05/the-10-most-dangerous-cities-in-america/239513/#slide2)
The city of Fargo was our destination this Sunday, and it was a very satisfactory day.
Natalie and I prepared her hair for a day of fun the Saturday before, complete with seven perfectly spaced braids that when taken apart before departure, left her hair quite ravishing.
Fifteen minutes into our ride, we checked out the town of Enderlin, the location of the brand new MOPS group the girls and I will be attending this coming Thursday. With Natalie's Victor Vito CD playing, we buzzed into Fargo right in time for lunch... at McDonald's, of course.
The afternoon temperatures were well on their way into the high 60s, but Natalie insisted she was cold. Ever the master of drama.
After lunch was mall time,
then over the bridge to Moorhead, Minnesota for park time,
to the Red River Zoo (http://www.redriverzoo.org/) for animals, carousels, and another park,
and to Lonestar for the wrap-it-up dinner.
Yes, that is Natalie with three ketchup cups, each with their own fry, always ready for the next bite.
It's no lie- the prices at our local grocery store are so ridiculous, I'm totally willing to head back to Fargo bi-weekly to get my shopping done. So before we headed home, we picked up a few groceries from Walmart then headed back to the apartment.
Which is a blog post all of its own.
